“Signing an artist could result to limiting his/her potential for him/her not to be bigger than myself” – Kinaata reveals.

Kofi Kinaata has revealed his sole reason if he has to sign any of the upcoming artists from Sekondi-Takoradi in an exclusive interview with Mysizezerogh.com

There has been talks on why the two times Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Songwriter, Kofi Kinaata, has “deliberately ignored” the emerging talents in the region following the fame and success he has chopped over the years in his stellar music career.

The multiple award winning Takoradi music icon clarified that he has thought of that, but to sign or work with an artist, the artist should be top talented, the artist should be someone who understands that in this current state, upcoming talents should know the situation on the ground and how to live their life.

“Artists will want to wear gold chains, drive in the best car even though the income realistically doesn’t support that.

“When I was coming up, I was made to understand the realities, what your show yields will be what you’ll show off. I play shows and take ¢300.00 so that should be the base for what I should wear and when I got up there I was given a car based on what my work yielded, but these current guys wouldn’t wait for this”.
