University of Ghana’s duo Isaac Agyemang and Banahene Owusu have won the Friday , April 12th 2019 Students Representative Council elections beating their opposition student viers , Julius Anthony and Kweku Asante despite waiting on the UGSRC EC to issue a date for the Korle Bu elections.

According to University’s Electoral Commissioner, Mr Roland who also serves the returning officer for commonwealth hall , Isaac Agyemang and Banahene Owusu polled 3732 votes cast representing 52.8 percent and Julius Anthony with Kweku Asante also amassing 3327 votes representing 47.1 percent.

Prior to the announcement, students of the Mensah Sarbah hall were not left out in the euphoria and there were already crowds of elated students gathered outside the hall partying late into the night as they waited for the EC’s declaration .

Amidst the announcement of the provisional results at around 4:00 a.m. by the University’s EC commissioner , the EC cited ” The SRC body is yet to decide on the date for the Korle Bu Elections ” however , many students and security personnel were present to experience and also guide respectively as Mr Roland makes proclamation of the collated results .

After all the drama and speculations , the new SRC President and his vice , Isaac Agyemang and Banahene Owusu , will be sharing office with Sarbah Andam and Kagal Denise who also won the Treasurer and General Secretary positions respectively.
